NEUROMUSCULAR REEDUCATION (NMR)
Neuromuscular Reeducation (NMR) is hands-on, deep-tissue muscle therapy that, when combined with chiropractic adjustments, can and will help you move past your pain, and onward with your active life. Peak performance (for sports, outdoor living, home life or your active hobby) is not unachievable, but it also won’t just materialize on its own. You have to want it. And you have to be willing to pursue it over time, with proper treatments.
We offer various therapeutic massages including Deep Tissue Therapy, Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and/or Hot Stone Massage. Fidelis and Barbara have 20 years of experience and are truly some of the best therapists in the Bay Area.
Many of our patients have experienced acute, chronic or disabling pain due to a disc injury or disc-related symptoms. For those patients we implement very specific exercises and stretches called The McKenzie Method. This process helps centralize the pain, change the spine and relax the muscles.
Our goal is to go beyond simply reducing pain. As a patient, we will work with you diligently to develop regular stretching and core strengthening routines, with respect to your desire and commitment level. Trigger point therapy (self myofascial release) also plays a crucial role in preventing injury in the future and recovery after exercise and competitions. Implementation of an individualized stretching/core strengthening routine can keep you injury-free, enhance your performance and dramatically increase your quality of life.
Cervical Decompression is a therapy that is occasionally used for treatment of neck pain and radiculopathy. This is a gentle, pain free mechanism to reduce pressure on the cervical spine, discs and nerves. We live in a “flexion” world, when a majority of our day is most likely adding significant stress to our cervical spine, muscles and nerves, in turn causing a ride range of symptoms. Mechanical cervical traction helps return our cervical spine to the natural curvature.
